Outsourcely has been rising in the remote work domain since some time now. It won’t be justified to say that it is giving competition to Upwork but nonetheless, people have started seeing Outsourcely as an Upwork alternative among many other websites. So, how do the two work? If we do an Outsourcely vs Upwork analysis, what is better for who?
We are putting Outsourcely and Upwork against each other on some parameters one by one. Please note that all of these are written from a perspective of a Flexible location worker or a remote worker.
1. Quality of Projects
Currently, as per our team’s analysis the projects on Outsourcely are lesser in number as compared to Upwork. However, the quality of projects and the kind of money that these provide are slightly better. The projects are mostly giving out justified pay and are worth the efforts. It seems like Outsourcely team takes care about the quality and the payout of the projects as of now.
Since it is a very old platform (formerly odesk + Elance), the number of projects and thus the clients is very high. Upwork seems to have very less control over the quality of projects, the kind of payout the clients are giving because of the high volume of work.
2. Number of Projects
As stated earlier, the number of projects on Outsourcely is currently limited as compared to Upwork.
The number and diversity of projects is very high on Upwork.
3. Security, Trust & Payment Methods
Outsourcely and Upwork both use Escrow for payments. However since Outsourcely is comparatively newer, its payment methods, dispute resolution and thus the trust that freelancers have somewhere lacks if put against Upwork.
Upwork was formerly Elance, which was known to be the most secure and trustworthy freelance platform when it came to payments. Upwork’s intervention, dispute resolution and payment methods are much more sophisticated given its experience in this domain for so many years.
4. Customer Support
Since the number of users is lesser, individual customer query resolution is faster in Outsourcely as of now.
Customer support is great, but a little slower.
5. Ease of Finding Work
As stated above, the quality of projects is high on Outsourcely. However, the number of projects is lesser. If you are a beginner, it will be tough to find work on Outsourcely. But if you have medium to high level skills, it is easier to find work on Outsourcely for you.
Since the variety of projects is very high, it is easier to find work for beginners as well.
Winner: Tie between Upwork & Outsourcely
6. Availability of Projects or Freelancers for Niche work
Since lesser people are active on Outsourcely, the availability of work for a particular skill or of a freelancer for a particular job might be tougher. It will be easier to find common work like writing, wordpress, sales etc but for niche work like Marketing in the Tech B2B space with relevant experience might be tough.
Due to the abundant availability of resources and work, niche work and workers can be found on Upwork. If you are looking for work within a particular work experience or for people in that it is more like you’ll find what you need on Upwork.
