Snapdeal to quit leased office and move teams to Coworking Spaces in Mumbai

In a recent development , it’s been revealed that Snapdeal is letting go of its 200 employee office in Malad in Mumbai and moving a 90 member team to a coworking space in Andheri.

As per a report via Inc42, the Snapdeal team has been implementing plans of cost cutting since a long time and this might be a move towards the same. However a Snapdeal spokesperson has said that the move has been initiated to ease the commute for its Mumbai employees. As per the statement, the  Andheri coworking hub is well located within the city and easy for everyone to travel to. The spokesperson from Snapdeal has refused that any firings are being done,  in fact he stated that the Snapdeal’s fashion team is being expanded in Mumbai.  He also said that the coworking hub move has been taken to increase flexibility and the ability to increase or cut resources whenever required.

This highlights the advantages that coworking spaces provide to companies. Coworking spaces helps bigger organisations to manage their multiple city presence in a more flexible manner instead of leasing individual offices.
